Mental Health Services

This service is to help people who are dealing with mental health issues.

We have a mental health nurse, who has a weekly clinic for patient's who are in need of a one-to-one discussion with a specialist.anx

Many people suffer with mental health problems and it is becoming increasingly common.

An appointment is usually 45 minutes long and you can have up to 12 sessions.

From time to time, counselling may lead to a referral for further sessions at the hospital or a specialist unit, if this is necessary and appropriate.

Patients who have used the counselling service have greatly appreciated the opportunity it provides to discuss their problems in greater depth; the great majority express satisfaction with the outcome and are sometimes surprised at just how much can be accomplished through "the talking treatment".

If you are experiencing any of the following issues, please contact the surgery to book an appointment:

  • Personal life and relationship difficulties

  • Low Mood
  • Stress

  • The impact of bereavement

  • Loneliness and depression

  • Anxiety

  • Traumatic Events

  • Drug and Alcohol Abuse

In these cases and many others, counselling can provide a setting in which to explore the problem, to understand one's feelings and motives better, and to make significant changes in behaviour or perspective.
